Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LegalFlow ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any updates to these terms.

2. Description of Service

LegalFlow is an AI-powered document analysis tool that processes uploaded documents using artificial intelligence (specifically, Anthropic's Claude API) to generate structured legal analyses and downloadable reports. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."

3. Not Legal Advice

THE SERVICE DOES NOT PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE. All outputs generated by LegalFlow are AI-assisted analyses intended as informational aids only. They do not constitute legal advice, legal opinions, or legal representation. No attorney-client relationship is created by using the Service. You must independently verify all outputs with qualified legal counsel before relying on them for any legal matter, proceeding, or decision.

4. User Responsibilities

  • You are solely responsible for all documents you upload and the use of any outputs generated by the Service.
  • You must have the legal right and authority to upload any documents you submit to the Service.
  • You must not upload documents containing information you are legally prohibited from sharing or processing.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

5. AI Limitations and Disclaimer

AI-generated outputs may contain errors, omissions, hallucinations, or inaccuracies. The Service does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose of any analysis or report it generates. You acknowledge that AI technology has inherent limitations and that all outputs require human review and professional judgment.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LEGALFLOW, ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LegalFlow and its owners, operators, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may discontinue use of the Service at any time.

9. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Subscriptions and Payments

Paid plans (Basic, Pro) are billed on a recurring monthly basis through Stripe. By subscribing you authorise LegalFlow to charge your payment method on each renewal date.

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Membership section of your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued for unused time.
  • Free-tier analyses are consumed permanently and are not refunded or restored upon plan changes.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except that either party may bring claims in small claims court if they qualify.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

  • Account information: Email address and authentication data provided through our authentication provider (Clerk).
  • Usage metadata: Which tools you use, number of files uploaded, processing times, and timestamps. This is stored in our database for analytics purposes.
  • Matter/case names: The names you assign to your analyses, stored as part of usage metadata.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect or Store

We do not store your uploaded documents or their contents.

  • Documents are processed in server memory only during the active analysis session.
  • Document contents are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis and are subject to Anthropic's data handling policies.
  • Once your analysis is complete, all document data is discarded from our servers. We retain no copies.
  • Generated reports are created on-demand and delivered directly to your browser for download. They are not stored on our servers.

3. Third-Party Services

The Service uses the following third-party providers:

  • Clerk: Handles user authentication, account management, and session security.
  • Supabase: Stores usage metadata (not document contents) for analytics and quota tracking.
  • Stripe: Processes payments for paid subscriptions. Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe and is never stored on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
  • Vercel: Hosts the application and handles request routing.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the Service.
  • To monitor usage patterns and improve the Service.
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse.
  • To communicate with you about your account, including transactional emails (receipts, usage alerts).
  • To send you occasional product updates, new feature announcements, and promotional offers from LegalFlow. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link included in every email.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication through Clerk, and server-side API key protection. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

Usage metadata is retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated metadata by contacting us. Document contents are never retained beyond the active processing session.
